Speaker Recognition Issues

If HintMint is misattributing quotes, merging speakers together, or failing to identify a participant, use this guide to improve accuracy.

Step 1

Confirm Participant List Accuracy

HintMint uses your calendar's participant list to help identify speakers. Confirm all attendees were correctly added to the calendar invite before the meeting.

Step 2

Review and Correct Attribution After the Meeting

Open the meeting summary and select any misattributed quote or action item to manually reassign it to the correct speaker. Corrections improve recognition accuracy for future meetings with the same participants.

Step 3

Check Audio Quality

Overlapping speech, poor microphone quality, or multiple people on a single audio line (common in conference room setups) reduce recognition accuracy. Where possible, have each participant join from an individual device with their own microphone.

Step 4

Large Group Calls

Recognition accuracy naturally decreases as the number of simultaneous speakers increases, particularly with more than eight to ten participants. Consider structured turn-taking for large group calls where accurate attribution matters most.

Step 5

New Participants

The first meeting with a new participant may show lower attribution confidence. Accuracy improves automatically in subsequent meetings as HintMint builds a voice profile.
