How Context Works
Context is the technical foundation behind everything HintMint does beyond transcription. This page explains the mechanics of how HintMint builds and applies context across meetings.
Context Is Built From Three Sources
- Workspace history: every meeting assigned to the same workspace contributes to a shared context pool.
- Structured extraction: HintMint doesn't store raw transcripts as its primary memory, it extracts decisions, action items, and key points, then indexes them for retrieval.
- Explicit references: documents you share within a workspace are indexed and available as context during live meetings.
How Context Is Retrieved During a Live Meeting
As a conversation happens, HintMint continuously checks the current discussion against the indexed context pool for that workspace. When a match is found, a relevant past decision, a repeated objection, related context surfaces as a live suggestion.
Context Boundaries
Context does not cross workspace boundaries by default. A meeting in your "Acme Renewal" workspace will not draw on context from an unrelated "Internal Ops" workspace, keeping context relevant and preventing unrelated information from surfacing where it doesn't belong.
Adjusting Context Depth
Go to Settings > AI Assistant > Context to control how many past meetings HintMint considers, and whether context is scoped to a single workspace or your full account.
