Audio Detection Issues
If HintMint is joining meetings but not capturing audio accurately, or is missing parts of the conversation, use this guide to resolve it.
Check Microphone Permissions
HintMint requires microphone and system audio access to process a meeting.
- Mac:go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone and confirm HintMint is enabled.
- Windows:go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone and confirm HintMint has access.
Confirm the Correct Audio Device Is Selected
If your device has multiple microphones or audio outputs connected, go to Settings > Audio in HintMint and confirm the correct input device is selected.
Reduce Background Noise
Audio quality directly affects detection accuracy. Where possible, use a headset or dedicated microphone rather than laptop speakers and built-in mic in an open room.
Check for Conflicting Applications
Other applications capturing system audio at the same time (screen recorders, other transcription tools) can interfere with HintMint's audio access. Close conflicting applications before your meeting.
Update HintMint
Confirm you're running the latest version. Go to Settings > About to check for updates.
Still Having Issues?
If audio issues persist across multiple meetings and devices, contact support with a specific meeting date and time for review.
