Installing HintMint
This guide covers installing the HintMint desktop application on Mac and Windows, along with the permissions HintMint needs to detect and assist your meetings.
Prerequisites
- A HintMint account (sign up is free)
- Admin rights on your device to install desktop software
- A supported OS: macOS 12 or later, Windows 10 or later
Installing on Mac
- Go to your HintMint dashboard and select Download for Mac.
- Open the downloaded .dmg file.
- Drag HintMint into your Applications folder.
- Launch HintMint from Applications.
- When prompted, grant microphone and screen-recording permissions. These are required for HintMint to detect meetings and process audio.
Installing on Windows
- Go to your HintMint dashboard and select Download for Windows.
- Run the downloaded .exe installer.
- Follow the installer prompts to complete setup.
- Launch HintMint from the Start menu.
- When prompted, grant microphone access.
Signing In
Sign in using the same email you used to create your HintMint account. If your organization uses single sign-on, select Sign in with SSO instead.
Verifying the Install
Once signed in, you should see the HintMint icon running quietly in your system tray (Windows) or menu bar (Mac). This confirms HintMint is active and ready to detect your next meeting.
